This role covers two main areas of responsibility, regulatory and inventory control. For regulatory, this position is responsible to ensure that all regulatory requirements are being met for products carried by Horizon Grocery + Wellness. For inventory control, this position will analyze reports and consult with various people and departments to monitor the movement status of products at all stages, and help to move products.

We are looking for someone that has an aptitude to learn new systems and procedures, who enjoys working independently, and has strong Excel skills. The right candidate will also be professional and can build and maintain positive external relationships with Horizon suppliers and various government agencies.



  • Maintain documentation, data, and files for future reference, and audit purposes which includes, but is not limited to: keeping up-to-date lists of all regulated products, tracking license expiry, scheduling review activities, reporting on status.
  • Maintain an understanding of new and existing regulations that may impact Horizon’s products and processes.
  • Prepare and facilitate third-party audits as necessary.
  • Liaise with regulatory agencies, suppliers, and consultants, providing forms and information as required.
  • Maintain various license compliance, compile documentation, and submit requests for amendments and renewals as required.
  • Coordinate product recall/withdrawal process and ensure successful completion.
  • Coordinate and perform internal audits.
  • Recommend changes or new procedures when required, create drafts, provide training, and support implementation.

Inventory Control:

  • Monitor and analyze the life cycle of products; from procurement to buying, warehouse storage, selling, handling, and delivery.
  • Analyze inventory data and processes using various reports.
  • Monitor, provide reports, highlight issues, and make recommendations for action.
  • After approval for action is given, coordinate and support work to sell-through product via most appropriate channel.
  • Maintain process flows for reporting.


Full-time (40 hrs/ week), Monday-Friday.


  • Experience working with government agencies on regulatory compliance.
  • Experience working with perishables/food.
  • Understand the principles of inventory control.
  • Ability to work independently with a variety of departments and individuals.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • An aptitude for numbers & details, with analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Proven ability with computers (ERP system, strong Excel, Outlook).
  • Ability to work under pressure and with time constraints/deadlines.
  • Knowledge of natural foods/products or the natural foods/products industry is desirable.
  • Experience working with food distribution is an advantage.
  • Education – Regulatory, Internal Auditing, Inventory Management/Supply Chain training (or equivalent courses or education) beneficial.
  • Project management experience an asset.
